Thailand, the backpacker's paradise, is a country full of history and culture. Tailândia, o paraíso dos mochileiros, é um país cheio de história e cultura. With so many tourist attractions on offer, how does a first timer to this far-flung land know where to start? Com muitas atracções turísticas em oferta, como é que um marinheiro de primeira viagem a esta terra distantes sabe por onde começar? Well, I have made up a list of the top 10 places to visit, all my own personal opinion and in no particular order. Bem, eu fiz uma lista dos 10 melhores lugares para visitar, todos a minha própria opinião pessoal e em nenhuma ordem particular. It was a hard decision as so many places are so incredible. Foi uma decisão difícil como tantos lugares são tão incríveis. Of course, if you have a favourite place not listed here, please feel free to comment. Claro, se você tem um lugar preferido não listados aqui, sinta-se livre para comentar. 
1. 1. Bangkok – Bangkok . Bangkok - Bangkok . Well ok, it's an obvious place to start really isn't it? Bem ok, é um lugar óbvio para começar realmente não é? The Grand Palace has an entrance fee of 350 baht and a strict dress code, (so no bare shoulders or feet!), but if you forget to dress accordingly there are clothes to change into at the entrance (your passport must be left as security). O Grande Palácio tem uma taxa de entrada de 350 baht e um código de vestimenta estrito, (por isso não ombros nus ou pés), mas se você esquecer de vestir adequadamente há roupas para se transformar em na entrada (o seu passaporte deve ser deixado como garantia ). 
2. 2. The Floating Market – The Floating Market is a beautiful place on the Damnoen Saduak canals and no trip to Thailand should bypass this one. O Mercado Flutuante - O Mercado Flutuante é um lugar bonito nos canais Damnoen Saduak e nenhuma viagem para a Tailândia deve ignorar este. The Temple of the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho is worth a visit and at only 20 baht it's a bargain, and for those who are looking for something a little different, the Philatelic museum, if stamps are your thing (or you just feel curious), then pop in – there are many stamps for sale to boost your collection, if that's your thing. O Templo do Buda Reclinado em Wat Pho, vale uma visita e em apenas 20 baht é uma pechincha, e para aqueles que estão procurando algo um pouco diferente, o Museu de Filatelia, se os selos são sua coisa (ou você simplesmente se sente curioso) , então no pop - há muitos selos à venda para aumentar sua coleção, se isso é coisa sua. 
3. 3. Chang Mai – Chang Mai. Chang Mai - Chang Mai. Thailand's highest mountain at 2,565 metres above sea level is west of Chang Mai. Montanha mais alta da Tailândia em 2565 metros acima do nível do mar fica a oeste de Chang Mai. Doi Inthanon is two bus rides away (a total of 106 km) but is home to beautiful waterfalls and gorgeous sights. Doi Inthanon é de duas viagens de ônibus de distância (um total de 106 km), mas é o lar de belas cachoeiras e paisagens deslumbrantes. The Doi Inthanon National Park is open all year round. San Kamphaeng Hot Springs – A little bit closer to town at just 36 km away is the San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, known its restorative properties, so after visiting the mountain it may be a nice place to unwind. San Kamphaeng Hot Springs - Um pouco mais perto da cidade a apenas 36 km de distância é o San Kamphaeng Hot Molas, conhecido suas propriedades restauradora, então depois de visitar a montanha pode ser um lugar agradável para se descontrair. 
5. 5. Hin Daeng – Hin Daeng. Hin Daeng - Hin Daeng. From the Thai meaning Red Rock, it is the number one scuba diving site in Thailand, and with a whole host of underwater sights from Barracuda to Manta Ray, it's easy to see why. Do rock tailandês significa Red, é o número do site scuba diving uma na Tailândia, e com toda uma série de pontos turísticos subaquáticos da Barracuda para Manta Ray, é fácil perceber porquê. Oh and look out for the odd whale shark! Ah, e olhar para fora para o tubarão-baleia estranho! 
6. 6. Koh Samui – Koh Samui. Koh Samui - Koh Samui. One of the more popular tourist destinations probably due to its gorgeous white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Um dos destinos turísticos mais populares, provavelmente devido ao seu lindo praias de areia branca e águas cristalinas. The Full Moon Party is a popular monthly for those who love the nightlife, and for those who love diving there are amazing coral reefs to explore. A Festa da Lua Cheia é um mês popular para aqueles que amam a vida noturna, e para aqueles que adoram mergulhar existem recifes de coral incrível para explorar. 
7. 7. Mae Hong Son – Mae Hong Son. Mae Hong Son - Mae Hong Son. Travel by bus for the complete experience from Chang Mai to Mae Hong Son. Viajar de ônibus para a experiência completa de Chang Mai a Mae Hong Son. It can take 7 or 8 hours to get there but well worth a stay. Pode levar 7 ou 8 horas para chegar lá, mas vale a pena ficar. With plenty of guest houses to choose from you won't be short of a place to rest your head after a full day of trekking in the mountains off the Thanon Thongchai range between Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand, or alternatively you may want to visit the Pha Sua waterfall for a more exotic walk. Com a abundância de casas de hóspedes para escolher, você não será menos do que um lugar para descansar a cabeça depois de um dia inteiro de caminhadas nas montanhas fora da faixa entre Thongchai Thanon Mianmar (Birmânia) e Tailândia, ou, alternativamente, você pode querer visitar o Pha cachoeira Sua para uma caminhada mais exóticas. Handicrafts and artworks of the hilltribe people can be purchased at the night market, ideal for unique souvenirs or mementos of your trip. The Padaung are a group of Karen refugees who originate from the eastern Burmese state of Kayah on the Thailand border, they have their own language and call themselves “Lae Kur” or “Kayan”. The sad thing is the women who wear the rings recieve money from the Thai government due to the tourists they bring in, which then incentivises them to put the rings on their young children. 8. 8. Ayutthaya – Ayutthaya is a UNESCO world heritage site and only an hour outside of Bangkok. Ayutthaya - Ayutthaya é um património mundial da UNESCO e apenas uma hora fora de Banguecoque. The ruined city is packed with temples, museums and buildings with historical and architectural significance. As ruínas da cidade está repleta de templos, museus e edifícios com importância histórica e arquitetônica. Hiring a motorbike to cover the surrounding areas is most definitely recommended. Contratação de uma moto para cobrir as áreas circundantes é definitivamente recomendado. 
9. 9. Railay and TonSai – Railay and TonSai are the places to visit for those who love an active holiday (and of course those who like to watch others being active). Railay e Tonsai - Railay e Tonsai são os locais a visitar para quem gosta de umas férias activas (e, claro, aqueles que gostam de ver os outros sendo ativa). The area is well known as the place to be for rock climbing, and visitors can enjoy wonderful treks through the lush mountainside. A área é conhecida como o local ideal para escalada em rocha, e os visitantes podem desfrutar de caminhadas maravilhosa através da montanha verdejante. This is all bordered by amazing sandy beaches and a beautiful tropical seascape. Isso tudo é limitado por incrível praias de areia e uma paisagem bonita tropical. Phuket – Phuket offers fun of a different sort, yes there are gorgeous beaches surrounding by beautiful scenery, but here you can sample other delights such as the crocodile farm, butterfly farm and an aquarium, which is ideal for those who want the joy of the scuba dive without actually getting in the water. Phuket - Phuket oferece diversão de um tipo diferente, sim, existem belíssimas praias, rodeada por belas paisagens, mas aqui você pode provar outras delícias, como a fazenda de crocodilos, borboleta fazenda e um aquário, que é ideal para aqueles que querem a alegria do mergulhar sem realmente entrar na água.
